3-D Movie Uses Computer Term for Title
Do you know the meaning of "avatar"? It is a computer term meaning "computer representation," a double or stand-in for computer games. In Sanskrit, "avatara" means "incarnation." The newly released film Avatar is making headlines because of its three-dimensional view of the year 2154, also its appeal to both the visual imagination and age-old struggle between good and evil. The "avatar" for the film's hero Jake Scully is a tall blue being called a Na'vi.
