Ancient Beauty

Near the city of Luxor in Egypt, a team of archaeologists has uncovered a huge head made of red granite. The head belongs to a sculpture of a body found several years ago. Soon the parts will be connected to pay tribute to this ancient pharaoh, Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt over 3,400 years ago. The statue is beautifully carved, polished, and complete, said Dr. Hourig Sourouzian who is leading the expedition.
