Myrtle Beach's Helmet Law
Recently, SC Supreme Court heard arguments for and against the motorcycle helmet laws of Myrtle Beach. Business owners claiming to support tourism oppose the city's helmet ordinance (passed in the fall 2008 to quell the lawlessness of motorcycle rallies). State law specifies that people under age 21 must wear helmets, but nothing in state law addresses helmets for those 21 and older.
