Alabama Theatre Package

Opening in 1993, The Alabama Theatre was formed to mark the history of the band. These four originating band members began their group in the 1960's, created by Randy Owen and his cousin Teddy Gentry, later adding Jeff Cook. For a while they kept their day jobs, but as momentum followed, they added drummer Mark Herndon in 1979. In the early years the band was named 'Wildcountry,' but later they made tracks for Nashville and changed the name to 'Alabama'.

Myrtle Beach's The Bowery was a hang-out for the band to improve and grow. By the spring of 1980 the band had signed with RCA. From their first hit 'Tennessee River,' the band amassed 21 hits as #1 and 42 singles. Not only that, the group widened the listening audience of country music.

This far-reaching appeal is one of the reasons why their show at The Alabama Theatre attracts such a wide audience.

Times to Remember

Expect an elaborate feast at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament an adventure in reliving the olden days when knights in shining armor rescued damsels, jousted for honor, and paid tribute to the lord of the realm. As they did, plan to use minimal utensils in eating your multi-course meal.
